DRAMA & TECHNICAL THEATRE

H.J. Cody Drama consists of the regular scheduled Drama Program of Drama 9,10,20, and 20 as well as a Technical Theatre (Set, Lights, Sound, Costumes, etc) program offered simultaneously with senior high drama. This allows all in class work to be supported by theatre technicians throughout the term.

We also offer an array of acting opportunities for students to be a part of theatre productions. Student actors can take Advanced Acting for credit and be involved in the main theatre production or they may act in student-directed One-Acts for our Zone festival.

Our program has had many accolades including 3 nominations to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, several winning performances at our zone festival that sent us on to Provincials, and several awards for both acting and technical theatre at the Provincial festival over the last decade.

ARTS & SOUL FUNDRAISER

Art and Soul is H.J Cody's Fine Arts Department Annual Fundraiser.

It is an evening of Music, Drama and Visual Art .

Music performances may include students, well-known artist's or up and comers.

Drama performances often include One-act plays and/or Monologues performed and directed by H.J. Cody Drama students.

Visual Art students display and sell prints of their artwork in a gallery-type setting.

Proceeds from this event go directly to benefit the H.J.Cody Fine Arts Program and our students.

This evening helps provide funding for Fine Arts award winners at Awards Night, scholarships for further education and/or Arts-based trips to places like New York City, and for equipment or supplies that are needed to enhance the Fine Art's student experience.

Support the Arts...they are alive and well.
